Last night, I spoke against removing The Perks of Being a Wallflower from a Readington school library. My argument was simple. Freedom is not the government deciding what everyone is allowed to read. That is tyranny. Please share if you agree. @readingrainbow @The Librarians Film #FreedomToRead #foryoupage #fyp #UniteAgainstBookBans #bannedbooks

Two years later, we are still having the same argument about the freedom to read in places like Readington, Rartitan Borough, and Bridgewater. Please watch my defense of your right to read from this 2024 NHV-BOE meeting. Since then, New Jersey has passed the Freedom to Read Act, and parents still have the right to decide what their own children read. That was freedom then. It is freedom now. If you believe freedom means more than letting the most sensitive and easily offended among us decide what everyone else is allowed to read, please share. @readingrainbow @The Librarians Film @njea president @New Jersey @Bridgewater NJ Democrats @Don Lemon @BILLIE EILISH @Rebecca Bennett @Rachel Maddow #freedom #freedomtoread #stopbookbans #BridgewaterRaritan #foryoupage
