“Don’t try to swing like Judge or other elite hitters because they’re freak athletes” is pure COPE It’s a lazy approach to coaching that limits young hitters by convincing them they can’t do what their favourite players do simply because they aren’t as big, strong, or athletic yet. Being young, small, or less physically developed doesn’t mean you need a fundamentally different swing. The best hitters in the world have developed swings that allow them to efficiently create and transfer force, while also consistently timing and barreling up the best pitchers in the world. Why wouldn’t we want young hitters learning those same principles and movements? Obviously, a 4-year-old or a 150 lb high schooler isn’t going to produce the same bat speed, force, or physical output as an Aaron Judge or Mike Trout. But the underlying movement principles can be learned by anyone regardless of size, age, or gender. Learning to match the swing of the best hitters plays at all ages. 🔥 Shoutout to @watchwayplay and Waylon! Kids an absolute stud

The season exposed the gap between where you currently are, and where you want to be. The offseason gives you the opportunity to close that gap, or let it grow as other players lap you. If you struggled this spring/summer, don’t just show up next season hoping things will be different. Identify what held you back. Get stronger. Get faster. Develop your swing. Build the physical tools you need to perform at a higher level. You have several months without games that count in the standings, to attack the weaknesses that showed up during the season. You cannot afford to waste them. The work you do — or don’t do — this fall/winter will show up next spring. I’m opening up a few spots for serious BC high school (AAA/College Prep/BCPBL) players who are looking for an individualized offseason plan. Serious about getting better this offseason? DM “OFFSZN.” #baseball #hitting #bcpbl #hittingdrills #softball

POV: you studied Barry Bonds 🐐 Every once in a while I like to have some fun and imitate different hitters. Different stances, loads, rhythms, hand positions — experimenting with different styles is a great way to learn and feel different movements. But style is just that: style. Underneath it, there are certain absolutes that matter a whole lot more. Study the greatest hitters to ever do it. Look past what makes each swing LOOK different and find the movements they consistently share. The best hitters all have their own individual style, but the same absolutes. If your swing doesn’t match video of the greats, you’ve got a whole lot more to worry about then changing your stance or adding a leg kick. When you watch your favourite hitters, don’t just duplicate the stance, hand pump, toe tap etc. Learn the movements under the hood💯. #baseball #softball #mlb #barrybonds #hitting
