It’s been 24 hours and we’re still not over the fact that nearly 600 people came to our silly little adult book fair this weekend in Seattle 😭😭 When I set out to start Lost The Plot, it was only in my wildest dreams that we’d get to pull off events like this. And I truly can’t believe how fortunate we are to have built up such an incredible community of book lovers across the Seattle and Everett areas. Thank you so so much for everyone who came and supported us, our authors, and our vendors—especially to those who waited in line in the heat to come shop our little pink bookstore on wheels 🥹🥹 We’re working on ways to hopefully make things smoother next time, like adding more ways to browse outside the truck and a better flow for lines, and we greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we worked to figure things out mid-event!! Thank you so much also to our incredible authors and vendors who came to be a part of this special event. And of course, thank you so much to @Old Stove Brewing and @Krystal 📚📺☕️|-/ for being an incredible partner and coordinating so much of this event!! Hey Everett, it’s almost time again for your favorite monthly book & tattoo event! Come join us on Friday, October 9 between 5-9pm at Scuttlebutt Brewing Taproom (on Cedar St, not the waterfront!) for our monthly book swap, mobile bookstore pop-up, flash tattoos, and brews! This month, we’ll have the following artists join us: • @jorji.tattoo • @humble.honey.bee.tattoos You can find the flash sheets posted on our IG! We’ll also have our book swap table set up as always! Here’s how it works: 📚 Bring 1-3 gently used books to exchange (please ONLY bring books you’d be excited to pick up yourself! This is not your opportunity to clean out dirty/waterlogged/otherwise unwanted books, as it ruins the fun for everyone) 📚When you arrive, drop them off at the table inside the brewery which will have signage marking it! 📚 Keep an eye on the table throughout the night and pick up as many as you brought to keep it fair for everyone 😊 And as always, our mobile bookstore will be set up right outside the brewery for all your book shopping needs and desires! Grab a brew and come pursue our shelves for something new to add to your collection! RSVPs are optional but help us a ton with planning; you can do so in the place where you tap the thing. Banned book week is almost over, but we’re not letting it go by without getting more of these books on your shelves. This Saturday, October 10, come join us at Princess & Bear Wines in the South Park neighborhood of Seattle between 1-5pm for our annual banned book themed book swap and sip! Bring a few books to swap (bonus points if they’ve been banned or challenged recently), get a glass of wine, and come browse our mobile bookstore. In addition to our usual carefully curated selection, we’ll have a banned book selection highlighted so you can pick up a copy or two to keep on your shelves or distribute to little free libraries in your neighborhood. 💕 Here’s how the book swap portion works: 📚 Bring 1-3 gently used books to exchange (in GOOD condition only please! Think books you’d be excited to take home yourself). Banned books are not required, but highly encouraged! 📚 When you arrive, stop by the book swap table inside the brewery to drop off your books! 📚 Check the table throughout the afternoon and pick up as many as you brought (or up to that) to keep it fair for everyone Find all the details and optionally RSVP by heading to our website.
