This particular client was a new client. She called a couple of weeks before her appointment asking about a style I had never heard of or done before. Of course, knowing me, I couldn’t turn her away, so she came in. Just like with most clients, we made an instant connection. We were laughing, talking about her previous hair history, and everything was going well. Then, tragedy had to creep in. While she was at the sink, she received an unfortunate phone call that rightfully shifted her whole energy. At that point, it was my job not only to do her hair but also to try to lift her spirits as much as I could without being too overbearing, while still giving her the space she needed. Needless to say, she left the shop with a smile, happy with both the experience and her style. That’s the job she hired me to do. We aren’t just stylists—we’re therapists, counselors, and a listening ear. That’s why I come to work every day. #locs #fyp #locstyles #columbiasc #locstylesforwomen
