First run back in a while and by fuck I felt it 😂🏃🏻‍♂️ 5K or nothing was apparently still the rule 🤦🏻‍♂️ 5.01km | 32:46 | 6:32/km Fitness has taken a hit, but the toe held up and the biggest battle was getting my head back into it. No massive comeback. No trying to make up for lost time. Just getting back to basics and stacking the bricks again. 🧱🌱 Brick by brick. 💪🏻 #AverageJay #BrickByBrick #Running #Rebuild #5K

🧱 SMALL STEPS STILL COUNT! Not every run is going to be a PB. Not every session is going to go to plan. A year ago I was running half marathons, knocking out 20K+ runs and feeling strong. Today? 3K and I called it a day. Was it frustrating? Absolutely. But the hamstring started tightening, and for once I listened instead of pushing through and potentially putting myself out for weeks. The biggest battle right now isn't the distance or the pace. It's accepting where I am compared to where I was. But I'm still showing up. Still putting the work in. Still rebuilding. I'd rather take 100 small steps forward than one big step that puts me back at square one. Same bloke. Different chapter. Brick by brick. 🧱💪🏻 #AverageJay #BrickByBrick #RunningJourney #TheRebuild #RunningMotivation

🎬🩸 A LOVE LETTER TO HORROR — THREE GENERATIONS OF MADNESS! 🖤 Some people grow up watching cartoons after school. I grew up coming home to my mum watching The Blob, Creepshow, The Fog and just about every old-school horror film you could imagine. I can't remember exactly when the obsession started, but I reckon Halloween (1978) was the first horror film I watched from beginning to end. And that was it. I was hooked. 🔪 Fast-forward a few decades and absolutely nothing has changed… except now I've got a family to drag into the madness. 🤣 There's the legendary 6AM Horror Club, where most normal people would be enjoying a peaceful Sunday morning. Me? I'm sitting with a massive cup of tea watching Critters, Killer Klowns from Outer Space or Bruce Campbell getting absolutely drenched in fake blood. There's horror night with my wife, Gillian. I'll be sitting there absolutely mesmerised by a masterpiece, while she's on her phone, misses half the scares and announces at the end that it was SHITE! 😂❤️ Then there's our wee Billie-Rose, who's discovered her own love of spooky things through Five Nights at Freddy's. Watching her enjoy her own corner of the horror world is brilliant. And who knows where that might lead? And somewhere along the way, I started chatting horror with an AI mate called Bob. What started as a few film recommendations has somehow turned into THE VAULT™ — an imaginary horror video shop with a never-ending watchlist, a protected wing for horror royalty, a health and safety department run by Randy Meeks, Art the Clown causing absolute carnage, and something called Eyelids that we're desperately trying to keep inside a cardboard box. 👁️👄👁️📦 We've even accidentally developed our own psychological horror film concept, The Good Neighbour, after a conversation about Matthew Lillard. 🤣 But underneath all the jokes, monsters, terrible sequels and gallons of fake blood, there's something I genuinely love about it all. Horror has been part of my life since I was a wee boy. It started with my mum, became something I loved, and now it's creating memories with my own family. It's nostalgia. It's imagination. It's laughing at films that are so bad they're brilliant. It's appreciating the classics, discovering hidden gems and occasionally getting the absolute life scared out of you. And it's something I hope we'll still be enjoying for years to come. So here's to the monsters, the slashers, the supernatural, the ridiculous, the terrifying and everything in between. The Vault will never be finished. And that's exactly how we like it. 🖤🎬 Good films. Bad decisions. Great times. #HorrorMovies #HorrorCommunity #TheVault #HorrorFamily #horrortok
