Ever wonder how those solid strips of colour get into a glass piece? Curtis and Nick heat the glass, then slowly pull it all the way across the studio to create an even strand of colour. Once it cools, the cane can be cut into sections and used to create those bold strips of colour in the finished piece. It takes two people, a whole lot of coordination, and a surprisingly long piece of glass. 🔥 Would you have guessed this is how it starts? #glassblowing #explorenb #saintjohnnb #cane #colour

Can you guess where these brown bears are headed? 🐻 Made completely by hand here in Saint John, NB and inspired by one of the animals that’s become such a recognizable part of Canada. Each bear has its own shape and character, making each one a little different. This batch is coming with us to Toronto! We’ll be bringing these bears and plenty of other Glass Roots pieces to @One Of A Kind Show November 26th - December 6th. If you’re going to be at the show, come find us and see what we’ve been making. We’d love to meet you! #glassblowing #glassroots #bear #toronto #saintjohn
