I didn’t think I was going to make it. It was high-stakes psychological warfare. A game of Russian roulette I was not carrying my bag. I was concealing evidence. I felt like every employee looking in my direction felt like TSA, FBI, and #bricksandminifigs corporate. So there I was… dressed in all black… moving through the airport like I had something I was not supposed to have. The bag was heavy. The mission was serious. The stakes felt personal. I finally made it to Tampa. Got to the room. Threw the bag on the bed. Opened it slowly… And inside? Not bricks. Books. 200 copies of my latest book, The Crisis We Created. As an English major, songs mean more than just catchy hooks. Let me explain why @princessgoindigital “Knuck If You Buck” verse, to me is one of THE GREATEST INTRODUCTION VERSES OF ALL TIME! Most people can feel when a verse works. But can you explain what the language is doing? In Part 1, I’m breaking down only the opening line: “Knuckin’ and buckin’ and ready to fight.” It contains a tricolon, polysyndeton, three escalating ideas, and a cadence created by the grammar itself.
