Spurs lost more days and games to injury than any other Premier League club. Now they're reportedly investigating whether the retractable pitch could be one piece of the puzzle. But here's the bigger question: When injury rates start climbing, where do you look? ⚽ Training load? ⚽ Match congestion? ⚽ Recovery? ⚽ Travel? ⚽ Strength & conditioning? ⚽ Breathing mechanics and fatigue management? ⚽ Playing surface? In elite sport, injuries are rarely caused by one thing. They're usually the result of multiple small factors stacking up over time. The teams that stay healthiest are often the teams that manage those margins best. What do you think is behind Spurs' injury crisis? #fyp #injuryprevention #FootballTraining #creatorsearchinsights #oxygenadvantage

Most football speed training happens in straight lines. The problem? Football doesn't. A study analysing 873 match sprints found that players rarely sprint in perfectly straight lines. The average sprint angle was around 5°, with some curved sprints reaching angles of up to 30°. Think about the actions that decide games: ⚽ Bending a run to stay onside ⚽ Curving around a defender ⚽ Attacking a through ball ⚽ Recovering into position These aren't track sprints. They're rotational, curved, football-specific movements. That's why I'm interested in breathing mechanics. Your diaphragm doesn't just help you get oxygen. It also influences ribcage movement, trunk rotation and how your body organises itself under speed and fatigue. If your ribcage can't move well, your movement options become limited. Maybe breathing training isn't just about endurance. Maybe it's about helping athletes move better in the positions football actually demands. The fastest footballers don't just run fast. They run fast around the curve. #FootballTraining #soccertricks #oxygenadvantage #SpeedTraining Reference: Fitzpatrick JF, Linsley A, Musham C. Most athletes train their legs, lungs and heart. Very few train the mechanics that connect them all. The Zone of Apposition (ZOA) is the area where the diaphragm sits against the inside of the ribcage. This contact helps the diaphragm create pressure, support efficient breathing and reduce reliance on accessory breathing muscles. When that contact is reduced, the body often finds other ways to get the job done. Part 2: Rib Flare and Breathing Efficiency coming next. #oxygenadvantage #breathingexercises #soccerworkout #footballtrainer #creatorsearchinsights
