Not every porck chop can be perfect, but if they were we wouldnt have hotdogs! We tried our hand at soap and unfortunately i dont have an instant read thermometer. So even though the temp read correctly, i think it was still too warm when i added the lye, causing the soap to solidify almost instantly instead of within 5-10 minutes. These soaps are for me only anyways, so it doesnt really matter to me if its not perfectly smooth, but it was a bummer that it didnt turn out the first go round. We will learn from our failures more than our successes, so im grateful for the opportunity to keep growing. I never thought triplets was in our cards until we saw those three jellybeans on the screen! Life has not slowed down a second since! They have been one of the most healing experiences of my life. My other brother was killed as a child. Seeing my kids brought a healing i didnt realize i needed, and a peace i chased. Transitioning to new phases of life can take up to two years statistically, so weve got plenty of time to iron out the minor details!! I’ll never forget two years ago. We had so many meetings, confrences, interventions, etc. we tried to be so strict on our daughter thinking it was her behavior. We watched the light just die in her eyes. She would cry when she tried to read or do work and say she was too stupid and couldnt do it. It took her three hours to do the work in kindergarten what her brothers could do in fifteen minutes. All because this teacher in one half school year could not come up with one single positive word to say about her. Not one compliment. The same things she scolded her for she praised my sons for. When we changed teachers, the new teacher and i cried over my daughters grades and handwriting because it was visible the trauma and decline from the beginning of the year. She worked her tail off to earn her trust and was making some progress but homeschool has truly been the biggest door opener for Birdie’s healing to begin. She now completes her work before her brothers and reads in her room an hour each night after bedtime (and thinks mama has no clue! 😝). Her handwriting is a WIP with her sensory processing struggles but it has vastly improved. All three boys have absolutely soared since homeschooling as well. It is exhausting. Its hard. Im scared every single day im messing them up forever. But every single day my husband and i wake up and we do the very best we can and honestly thats the best that any of us can do. If the best you can do one day is brush your hair and eat a sandwich then thats enough. If the next day you do twelve loads of laundry and make all those medical appointments youve been putting off, thats enough too. You dont have to perform to be valuable. Your value is intrinsic. You are valuable in your soul as a bringer of light. Carry that light with you today and put down that burden you hold so often. You are enough.
