🙏 Sunday Reflections — 31 Years Apart, One Field, and a Journey of Faith ❤️ Today's Sunday Reflection was probably one of the most emotional I've ever recorded. In fact, I had a difficult time getting through it. Today, I had the incredible privilege of watching my daughter, Lorelai, take the field at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York, as a member of the Band of the North, competing in the 2026 New York State Field Band Championships. As I sat there watching her perform, I couldn't help but think back 31 years. In November 1995, I stepped onto that very same field as a member of the Saranac Lake football team, competing for a New York State Championship in what was then known as the Carrier Dome. Thirty-one years apart. Two different generations. Two different teams. The same field. The stadium has changed. The field looks different. Even the name on the building has changed. But standing there today, watching my daughter experience something I had experienced more than three decades earlier, brought back emotions I wasn't entirely prepared for. And there was something even more meaningful about this moment. My daughter played an important role in helping me find my faith in God. It was around the time of her birth that my relationship with God changed in a way I could never have anticipated. That's a story I share in today's video, and even now, thinking about it brings tears to my eyes. Sometimes we don't recognize the significance of a moment until years later. Sometimes God places someone in our lives who changes us in ways we never imagined. And sometimes, we find ourselves sitting in a stadium, watching our child follow a path that brings us right back to a place from our own past. “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” — Psalm 127:3 (KJV) Today wasn't just about a field band championship. It was about family, memories, gratitude, and the remarkable journey that brought me from that field in 1995 to watching my daughter on it in 2026. And it was a reminder of just how much my faith and my life have changed along the way. I couldn't be prouder of my daughter, her fellow musicians, and everyone involved with the Band of the North. But more than anything, I'm grateful for the blessing of being her father. 🙏 Thirty-one years ago, I walked onto that field chasing a championship. Today, I watched my daughter take that same field and realized that one of the greatest blessings of my life was sitting right there in front of me. #SundayReflections #ThePrayerPlace #FaithAndFamily #ProudFather #BandOfTheNorth #NYSFieldBandChampionships #JMAWirelessDome #SyracuseNY #Psalm1273 #GodsBlessings #FatherAndDaughter #JourneyOfFaith
