Toby, a 2-year-old black Labrador, has made an incredible recovery after a freak accident left him seriously injured when he was impaled on a stick during play. What started as a normal game quickly turned into a life-threatening emergency when the stick became lodged in his throat, narrowly missing vital organs. Despite urgent local treatment, Toby needed emergency specialist care at our Vets Now Glasgow Hospital. He underwent delicate surgery to remove the stick, but later developed serious complications requiring a second urgent operation after vets suspected potentially fatal peritonitis. Thanks to the skill and dedication of the team, Toby has now made a strong recovery and is back home with his family, much to their relief. His owners are now sharing their story to highlight the hidden dangers of stick injuries in dogs and are urging others to be cautious. 🐾 #sticks #dog #dogsotiktok #vetsnow

What Mango thinks summer is all about...☀️ Splashing in every bit of water he finds. Investigating all the barbecues. What we know? A little extra care and precaution goes a long way in keeping our dogs safe through the warmer months.

Keep your dog cool, healthy and refreshed this summer with our top dog-safe fruits 🐶🙌 Please remember to wash and prep the fruit properly before giving it to your pup by removing any pulps, rinds, cores, and seeds. These can all be choking hazards. Apple seeds also contain a compound that can release cyanide if ingested, so be sure to take those out before your dog enjoys. 🍎 Drop your pup's favourite fruit snack in the comments below, we'd love to hear!👇 #dogsafefood #foodfordogs #summerfruit #dogs #vetsnow
