Rasta Jelly 🍮 Learn more ⤵️ Aside from being visually striking, the purple-striped/rasta jellyfish (Thysanostoma loriferum) can deliver a sting causing severe pain, muscle cramps, or difficulty breathing. Admire it from a distance to avoid direct contact 💉 | When I encountered this jellyfish, I was testing out some experimental camera configurations on a dive. I had a 35mm f/4 lens on my camera for focus testing in the shallow reef when this beauty appeared out of nowhere. Daily Procedures ⤵️ During the production of "Metropolis - A Day in Reef City," I visited a very special reef almost daily to document the behavior of reef fish 🐠 | Before I could even attempt to take a shot, I spent significant amounts of time just observing and understanding the ways of these animals. Life on reefs is extremely dynamic, and things can change in an instant.
