Bayer’s lawyers have been busy. The Supreme Court ruled 7–2 for Monsanto, blocking a man’s state-law claim that Roundup should have carried a cancer warning. Bayer, which bought Monsanto, has also proposed a settlement of up to $7.25 billion despite disputing any allegations of harm. That ruling narrowed one route for people trying to hold the company accountable. Big Ag comes with a legal department. Holding it accountable shouldn’t take a lifetime.
