Strong women. Strong unions. Strong communities. The 2026 Tradeswomen Build Nations Conference brought together women from across the United States and Canada to connect, collaborate, and share the experiences and ideas that make our labor movement stronger. Every conversation creates an opportunity—to learn from one another, build lasting friendships, strengthen mentorship, and help the next generation see a future in the union skilled trades. Thank you to Alfia Anderson proud IBEW Local 3 member and Kim Cicero VP Labor & Trust UnitedHealthcare, for your support and commitment to building a strong, connected union community. We also proudly recognize the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance and its role in bringing union members and families together through shared interests, service, and community involvement. ULA Network is proud to support, educate, and promote the women helping build our country and strengthen our communities. Let’s carry these connections forward—supporting one another and turning shared ideas into opportunities. What connection or lesson from this year’s conference will you bring back to your local? #TradeswomenBuildNations #TWBN2026 #Unitedhealthcare #IBEWLocal3 #UnionSportsmensAlliance #ULANetwork

"If I can do it, you can do it." At the 2026 Tradeswomen Build Nations conference in Houston, we met Bailey Bradford from UA Local 286 in Austin, Texas https://hubs.li/Q04Bf-LG0. She just finished five years of plumbing and pipefitting through a joint union apprenticeship, and her message deserves to be heard by anyone thinking about a career in the trades. When Bailey started, she says she "didn't know a thing." Five years later she's a skilled tradeswoman, standing in a room full of women who build, fix and power the country. That's what a union apprenticeship does. You earn while you learn, you get real training from people who've done the work, and a brotherhood and sisterhood has your back from day one. If you're curious about the trades but intimidated or unsure, Bailey has been in your shoes: "Just know that I was once that person. And if I can do it, you can do it." Her advice is simple. Don't be afraid to get out there. Learn new things. Don't be afraid to take up space. Seeing thousands of women at this year’s Tradeswomen Build Nations shows the opportunity is real and growing. Union careers in the skilled trades offer good wages, benefits, a pension and a path with no ceiling, and they're open to anyone willing to show up and learn. As Bailey put it: "This is why we're here — to support you." ULA Network stands with Bailey and every tradeswoman paving the way. Support. Educate. Promote. Shout out to our friend and ULA Network correspondent Brooke Nichols UA Plumbers local 200 for connecting us to Bailey.
