Meet our newest intake! We saw this guy last week but needed to come up with a plan before we could take him in. Well, we found a plan! He very obviously is suffering from a painful skin condition. It is likely mange, plus or minus some ringworm. Chances are he has a secondary infection at this point due to excessive scratching. We administered mange treatment last week, so he’s already one step closer to recovery. Today, we went out to catch him. Luckily, he was where he was supposed to be! At first he ran, but was quickly coaxed with some treats. Still a little flighty, so we didn’t risk fully picking him up. We tested a scruff a few times with some rough pets to get him used to the feeling. It’s a good little trick to put cats into carriers backward so they don’t see the enclosed space. Luckily, this was an easy one! **Please don’t try to handle cats without experience - there is always a risk of scratching and biting, especially with cats you do not know** @kiwiandthecats will be fostering and getting him back to good health! We can’t wait to see the glow up 🌟He has a vet visit on Wednesday. If you’ve seen our stories, you’ve seen the poop debacle we’ve been dealing with 💩 That means Chumswick is getting daily booty baths, but he won’t allow anyone to wipe so he has to get the full bathtub experience. While he doesn’t like that part, he really enjoy being tucked in afterward. Hopefully this boy starts feeling better soon 💖 Goodnight from Chumbo. #rescue #rescuecat #cats #mange #spayandneuter
