Have you ever thought, or somebody ever tell you “you need to play faster” “Increase the speed of play” Put the technique aside for a moment, if we are purely talking about the slow speed of play due to the slow decision making process…. You just might need some rules. Instead of just seeing the ball and moving towards it - think proactively on: 1) How & where can I get on the ball? 2) Who and where is my outlet? Simple, but an effective way of thinking to increase the speed of play as now we are proactively doing the ground work. Problem solving based on the information. What is the player on the ball’s intention? Where are the defenders and what is my direct opposition’s body shape? How much information does he have on me? What’s his intention? How can I counter that? Where is the space I will enter? Who/what is my outlet? Keep thinking ahead to effectively problem solve. #soccerfundamentals #footballanalysis
