Pretty privilege is real, but I don’t automatically interpret a man’s attention as proof that I’m special to him. 😭 A man calling you pretty, treating you differently, or doing things for you that he wouldn’t do for someone else doesn’t always mean there’s a deeper connection. Sometimes, it’s just pretty privilege at work. I think we need to talk more about how the patriarchy shapes the way women receive attention, how men treat women they find attractive, and why we shouldn’t build our self-worth around male validation. Stay humble, stay observant, and learn to distinguish attention from genuine intention. 👀 Am I oblivious to men liking me, or am I just not romanticizing preferential treatment? LET’S DISCUSS. 😂 #PrettyPrivilege #Patriarchy #MaleValidation #DatingPsychology #WomensPerspectives

Being confident doesn’t mean you think you’re better than everybody else. 😭 Sometimes people interpret your confidence as cockiness, and you end up feeling misunderstood when all you wanted was to connect with them. The hardest part is realizing that someone might perceive you in a way you never intended, and now a potential friendship never gets the chance to happen. Have you ever felt like people were intimidated by you when you genuinely just wanted to be friends? 🥲 #Confidence #Friendship #SocialDynamics #SelfAwareness #Relatable

I’m not comparing you to another man. I’m comparing you to how I treat myself. And that’s a MUCH harder competition to win. 😭 The older I get, the more I realize that I’m not dissatisfied with men because they’re incapable of making me happy. I’m realizing that I’ve learned how to give myself the love, effort, experiences, emotional fulfillment, and consideration that I used to hope a relationship would bring me. I don’t want to keep making men feel like they’re disappointing me when the truth is that I’ve gotten really good at showing up for myself. And maybe romantic love is supposed to ADD to that, not replace it. At 28, I’m finally understanding that someone falling short of what I want doesn’t mean I’m not worth it. It means I know what I bring to my own life. And I’m grateful for that. 🤍 Have you ever realized that your standards in dating are actually based on how YOU treat yourself? #DatingOver25 #SelfLove #DatingStandards #WomenWhoChooseThemselves #RelationshipTalk
