FIFA President Gianni Infantino is here in Jamaica. Infantino is coming to the region at a pretty important time for FIFA. He’s confirmed that he intends to seek another term as FIFA president in 2027. Now, Jamaica Football Federation President Michael Ricketts says this visit is important because Infantino needs to reconnect with the football family, particularly here in Concacaf. And I think the bigger conversation for us in Jamaica should be: *What does having the FIFA president here mean for Jamaican and Caribbean football?* Because when the head of world football comes to Jamaica, we should be talking about more than tonight’s match. We should be talking about investment, infrastructure, youth development, opportunities for our players and coaches, and how the Caribbean gets a stronger voice in the global football economy. So yes, Infantino in Jamaica is probably a good signal of something good to come. But the bigger question is: *What can Jamaica and the Caribbean get from having FIFA’s attention?* What do you think?
