THRIVE@TEARS: Building a stronger team, together. At TEARS Foundation, the compassion we show others starts with the connections we build within our own team. Led by Nomathamsanqa (Thami) Ntshabele, a student registered counsellor completing her practicum through @SACAP, THRIVE@TEARS is an initiative focused on strengthening relationships, encouraging collaboration and creating a supportive environment where staff and volunteers can connect and thrive together. Through meaningful interactions, shared experiences and open feedback, the initiative aims to strengthen staff and volunteer wellness, deepen understanding of the work we do and foster a culture of empathy, compassion and shared purpose. From crisis intervention and counselling to advocacy, prevention education and fundraising, every role contributes to our mission of bringing hope and healing to those affected by gender-based violence. Because the work we do is about more than individual contributions. It is about the people behind the mission, the connections we build and the difference we make together. When we connect, we grow.
