Remote camera #WolfWednesday 🐺 Trail cameras are one of the best, non-invasive ways to keep track of wildlife, learning so many things about them along the way! Yellowstone is so unique - it’s one of the only places in the entire world that you can actually sit and observe wolves in the wild. Most places require the use of trail cameras to get “eyes” on wolves and see them behaving naturally. The Voyageurs Wolf Project has mastered the craft of finding the best camera location and learning incredddddible things about the wolves in their ecosystem through trail cameras alone (check them out!) Fortunately, people like Jeremy SunderRaj have watched enough wolves in Yellowstone, to find the perrrrrfect camera location spot to capture videos just like this! (Thanks Jeremy! 🐺) With hundreds of cameras in Yellowstone’s backcountry, primarily used to capture videos and photos of mountain lions, we are lucky enough to get some epic footage of the wolves utilizing the landscape + patrolling their territories. We also get lots of other critters roaming the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem - Wolverine, mountain lions, black + grizzly bears, mountain goats, big horn sheep, moose, bobcats, thousands of bison + elk - we’ll occasionally get the smaller critters too, like weasels, pine marten! Trail cameras are one of the best tools! I encourage you all to play around with them one day to see what you can capture in your neck of the woods 🌲🐺🐻🦬🏔️ Thanks Browning Trail Cameras for creating the best camera! #wolves #wolf #yellowstonenationalpark #trailcamera

EEEEEEK! I’m so excited to share that Andrea Baratte and I are leading a winter wolf watching tour, January 3-8! 🐺❄️ We’ll spend some days in the interior by snow coach (a first for me!!!) and, of course, the place I know best: Yellowstone’s northern range. Some of you know this, some don’t: my Yellowstone story began as a naturalist, showing people the place that makes my heart sing. I can’t wait to get back to the park and share it (and these wolves) with people eager to explore. Winter here is epic, and this is a small, intimate group. Want to join us? Tap the link https://adventuretoursofyellowstone.com/utlimate-wolf-wildlife-winter-safari/ P.S. Our group will also hear from Jack Rabe about his Scandinavian Wolf Project adventures and the incredible work he’s doing on wolves and cougars in the park. 🐾🙌🏾🦬🙏🏾 #wolves #wolf #wild #yellowstone #yellowstonenationalpark

Proof that the saying “it takes a village” isn’t just for humans. 🐺❤️ Did you know wolves are cooperative breeders? It’s never just mom and dad raising the pups. It’s older siblings babysitting, aunts and uncles bringing home dinner, and the whole pack keeping watch so the family survives. They protect each other. They play. They grieve. They care. This isn’t anthropomorphizing, this is recognizing that wolves are sentient beings, like most wild animals are. Watching these brand-new pups explore Yellowstone for the first time every year is a constant reminder of how deeply connected we all really are. We share so much more with the wild than we think. 🌲✨🐺 #wolves #wolf #yellowstonenationalpark #wild #family
