Sometimes it’s hard to pause and celebrate when you don’t feel like you’ve made “IT” yet. Especially as an actor or as a creative. Truth is we could be in the middle of everything we’ve wanted, finally reach the dream, and lament the fact we didn’t celebrate the journey. Tomorrow, along some amazing creatives with @OOPS we are filming. The best part, one of my best friends, and former roommate @Noel will be joining us on set. Before moving to LA, I said I wanted to not only become a greater actor, I wanted to learn to create opportunities for myself and others. It’s literally happening right in front of my very eyes. Not only that, I’m a proud father now and have found the woman of my dreams to start our family with. I know my mom is in God’s ear on my behalf. Since losing my mom, hearing “no” doesn’t scare me the way it used to. I’m pursuing acting, writing my own stories, and giving myself permission to go for the things I kept putting off. But every milestone comes with a phone call I wish I could make. I’m accomplishing things I couldn’t wait to tell her about. And sometimes, right in the middle of being proud of myself, all I want is to hear her voice. There’s room for both. The joy of what’s happening and the ache of who’s missing.
