Saturday’s hack taught me one very important thing…Bob still really, REALLY doesn’t like sheep. 😂 He spotted them in the field and immediately went full giraffe. 🦒Head up. Body rock hard. Brain officially elsewhere. I gave him a squeeze and his response was basically: “No thanks, Mum. I’ve considered your suggestion… and I’ll be going home now.” Cue him spinning on the edge of the dyke. 😳And you know what? I decided I wasn’t going to be a hero. So I got off. I walked him past in hand while he jogged sideways beside me, snorting like the sheep had personally offended him. 🤦‍♀️😂 Thankfully, there was a lovely lady behind me in her car who held back the traffic while we made our very dignified exit past the sheep. 🙌 Once we were past, Bob let out the biggest sigh. FOR GOD’S SAKE, BOB. 😂 I got back on and off we went, all was well with the world again. But the next day? I was determined to ride past them. And I did! Lots of encouragement, lots of positive voice, and quite possibly a little more enthusiasm in my voice than was strictly necessary. 😂 Bob is actually brilliant with voice commands and really listens to me, so I used that to keep him focused and moving forward. And yes…I stayed on. 🙌😂 Sometimes the win isn’t galloping past the scary thing like nothing happened. Sometimes it’s getting off, dealing with it, getting back on and trying again the next day. And sometimes it’s simply convincing your horse that the sheep are, in fact, NOT going to eat him. 🤣🐑 Let’s go again this weekend and see what happens! #HorseMum #HorseRiding #CobLife #EquestrianLife #HorseTraining
