Grady who is with us for an intense rehab board and train, lots of extremely skittish behavior which kicks in his flight mode, which we have strict protocols on how we stop this. Also he has been biting people. He actually lunged at Angelo at the drop off (you can see this at his drop off video) Angelo works Grady on some basic heeling exercises and then loading up in the truck on command, all dogs that go into the truck load up and then default to a down without being told. They stay in a down the whole ride, this is an incredibly effective protocol for any dog that struggles with anything as most training programs do not have a State of Mind protocol with the training program and this is a small part of ours. Angelo is able to work with 100% of the dogs in our training program and is a highly active participant in every part of the dogs board and train. It is quite incredible how Angelo can establish leadership with every dog within hours of meeting a dog. We have done videos of this and we will do more showing how he establishes leadership so quickly. Everyone can learn a great deal with this no matter how well your dog is trained. #dogtrainer #obedience #dogobedience #leashreactivity #leashaggression #reactivedog #leashreactivity #dogtraining #balancedtraining #prongcollar #ecollar #ecollartraining #resourceguarding #stopleashpulling #dogtrainingtips #solidk9training #aggressivedog #aggressivedogtraining #behaviormodification
The first step in rehabilitating leash reactivity? Actually stopping the unwanted behavior. Not giving the dog something else to do. #dogtrainer #obedience #dogobedience #leashreactivity #leashaggression #reactivedog #leashreactivity #dogtraining #balancedtraining #prongcollar #ecollar #ecollartraining #resourceguarding #stopleashpulling #dogtrainingtips #solidk9training #aggressivedog #aggressivedogtraining #behaviormodification
Grady is with us for aggression rehab and has a history of lunging at people that approach him/his owner. On his first day with us he lunged at Angelo multiple times. (He was muzzled) So over the past week we’ve been teaching Grady new coping skills through counter conditioning. Any time Angelo approaches and he does NOT look like he will attempt to lunge or bite, he gets rewarded. Of course before we got to this point we did correct that behavior to establish a level of safety. Grady has already learned “no” and that going after people is unacceptable behavior. And now we spend the next 3 weeks doing training protocols like this with as many people as possible in as many environments as possible to create a new response. This is just a very small part of our aggression rehab program. Hundreds and thousands of reps go into the dogs. It’s a 24/7 job. #dogtrainer #obedience #dogobedience #leashreactivity #leashaggression #reactivedog #leashreactivity #dogtraining #balancedtraining #prongcollar #ecollar #ecollartraining #resourceguarding #stopleashpulling #dogtrainingtips #solidk9training #aggressivedog #aggressivedogtraining #behaviormodification
