The movement to #stopcopcity has united people across various identities and political struggles, but the narrative has largely been controlled by city officials and mainstream media ~ I’m partnering with @scalawagmag this week to put the narrative back in the hands of Atlanta residents and organizers. Tap in to their website every day this week for a new piece and perspective on the fight against cop city. www.scalawagmagazine.org Altanta Solidarity Fund: https://actionnetwork.org/fundraising/contribute-to-the-atlanta-solidarity-fund

The Black Radical Tradition destroys the narrative that any meaningful progress in our liberation has been made by appealing to the sensabilities of the oppressor or tiptoeing around oppressive systems. Globally! #blackradicaltradition #blackliberation #abolition #blackpower #panafricanism

Being misunderstood is a given when communication has too many variables, so as Black people, reserving our energy for those we’re in community with and that we’re accountable to is so important! Even as I learn to discern what labor is mine and what isnt, im going to make mistakes. I’ll give too much here or too little there, but releasing myself from the pressure of being underatood by everyone has created so much space and peace in me ~ peace that keeps me alive and well. #blackliberation #blacklove #freedom

Changing your name doesnt even have to be that deep really ~ but it was for me. It was my way of honoring this new arc in my liberation journey with a material act of freedom. I love my name. How it sounds, how it makes me feel powerful and possible, how it shrinks and stretches effortlessly ~ how it shines how it shines 🌞 #blackliberation #blackqueertiktok #blacklove #names

So many of us have spiritual wounds from our experiences with organized religion. Beeaking bread and sharing stories can be a balm to some of those wounds. #blackqueertiktok #spirituality #religioustrauma #blackliberation
