😡 Are you kidding me right now? Deadline November 2 2 weeks ago, you walked into the shelter, picked me out, and took me home. I did everything you asked for. I was friendly, playful, and affectionate. I loved playing tug-of-war, fetching balls, going on walks, and hanging out with your other big dog. I was house-trained, knew how to sit, and loved my chew toys. Then all of a sudden, “someone’s pregnant”, and suddenly there’s “no room” for an 89lb dog you just committed to? So you marched me right back to the very place you saved me from. Now I’m back in a loud, terrifying concrete box. Yeah, I’m stressed out. Yeah, I don't want to walk back into a kennel cell after being out in the yard - can you really blame me? I'm not mean; I'm just a big, heartbroken boy who is confused, scared, and desperate for someone who actually keeps their promises. Where I Shine ✨ Totally house-trained (I like to save it for walks!), potty-trained, and great inside the home. ✨ I'm a total lovebug with adults and kids alike - soft, wiggly, gentle with treats, and always seeking attention or leaning in for pets. ✨ I lived with another large dog for 2 weeks and we were super playful and friendly together. ✨ I walk like a dream on leash with zero pulling when I'm relaxed, love car rides, and live for games of tug-of-war, balls, and playing in the water pool. Where I Struggle: • Being back in a cage has devastated me. Once I'm out in the yard, I get extremely anxious and resist going back into a kennel cell (I'll plant my feet and dig in because I don't want to be locked up again). • In the loud shelter environment, I can get overwhelmed when returned to confinement, requiring extra patience, coaxing, or a calm transition to get me inside. • I need a patient home that will work with me slowly on crate/confinement training, as I get frustrated and anxious when locked away. I need a real, committed foster who won't give up on me when life shifts. I need someone patient who can give me a quiet home, work with my kennel anxiety, and let me be the big, loving couch potato I actually am. Look into those eyes and try not to fall in love. ⏰ URGENT DEADLINE: 11/4/2026 Asiago is a striking 1 year old, 70lb Staffordshire mix with the most beautiful, crystal-blue eyes and a super handsome face to match. Underneath his shelter stress, Asiago has shown some truly wonderful, sweet qualities. When he feels safe, he is soft-bodied, wags his tail, and will sit so politely to take treats with complete gentleness. In fact, be sure to check out the comments on this post for a video of Asiago showing off just how calm he can be and how softly he takes treats right from your hand! He allows petting, loves a good rope toy for short play sessions, and even gets the cutest happy zoomies when he lets his guard down. His finder also noted that he walked right up to them in a parking lot, followed them willingly, and did well with their 2 resident dogs. However, Asiago is having a really tough time adjusting to the shelter, and his anxiety is causing him to struggle with confidence and trust. In this high-stress environment, he can experience episodes of behavior escalation and uncertainty. He gets easily startled and head-shy, sometimes freezing up or displaying a low growl and hard stare when he notices people or other dogs from a distance. Regarding other animals, while his finder mentioned he did okay with their medium and small dogs, he did growl at dogs in the shelter lobby, tried to go after a cat, and shows some leash reactivity when walking past occupied kennels. Asiago is insecure and overwhelmed. He will definitely need a consistent, experienced foster who can give him structure, read his body language, and patiently help teach him confidence in a quiet home environment without overstimulation. Any future pet introductions should be done very slowly and carefully. I'M TWIZZLER! 🍬 If you’re looking for the absolute sweet treat of the shelter, you just found me! ⏰ URGENT DEADLINE: 11/3/2026 Ask ANY of the shelter volunteers about me and they will tell you the exact same thing: I am an absolute LOVEBUG! I walk like a dream on a loose leash, ignore other dogs when we stroll past their kennels, and my absolute favorite thing in the whole world is to climb right into your lap for giant snuggles. I lean my whole wiggly body into you, hand out endless free kisses, and listen super intently when you talk sweet to me. I'm playful, laid-back, and just want to be somebody's total cuddle buddy! Now, the shelter put a "bite" mark on my record, but hear me out because it wasn't done out of mean intent AT ALL! The wonderful volunteer I was out with will tell you I was having the absolute best time with her. But on the walk back, some neighboring dogs started barking like crazy, I got a little over-excited, and I really, really didn't want my fun walk to end or go back into my kennel. I turned around and mouthed her knee - I didn't latch on or try to hurt her, I was just super over-stimulated, mouthy, and throwing a silly puppy tantrum because I wanted to stay outside and keep playing! The volunteer didn't even need treatment because there was no malicious intent behind it, but because of shelter rules, I got labeled a behavior priority. Intake notes show I did great with an 18 year old in my previous home, paid no mind to neighbor dogs, and have had zero issues walking past other shelter pups. The shelter recommends a home with older kids (12+) and slow introductions/decompression time just so I can learn appropriate manners when I get super excited.
