For #SevereMEDay I want to talk about chronic illness representation online and disability politic. On Severe ME Day we share about and advocate for the most sick and impacted my Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). ME is a neuroimmune condition with the hall mark symptom of post exertional malise (PEM) which put simply is worsening of symptoms after physical, mental, or emotional effort. ME severity ranges from mild where some people may work but struggle to maintain it and basic aspects of functioning to very severe where people cannot tolerate light or sound and cannot leave their bed. Today I want to talk about chronic illness representation and disability politic. Replying to @BeastOfParadise This is going to shock you but there are also some people who are so sick that they can’t have conversations but sometimes they will use whatever strength they have to communicate and dictate to someone else so we can hear from them because yall refuse to believe they exist and this has real consequences for people like lack of care and funding for debilitating diseases. Not saying that those are the people you don’t believe who are making videos online I just want you to be aware that people like that exist and them sometimes being able to communicate, doesn’t mean they aren’t sick either ##myalgicencephalomyelitis##posturalorthostatictachycardiasyndrome
