When you come from all over- calling a place ‘home’ becomes hard to mark. I was in 6th grade when my mother picked up our lives and moved us across the country back to her ‘home’ town in Illinois. I’d often heard stories from her of what it was like growing up in a small town & small community, until I got the chance to be a part of one like she was- thru playing sports and spending a lot of time around the Sacred Acre at West Central CUSD 235. It was there where I saw the love of football, #FN5GL Friday Night Lights and a passion for the sport grow in players like Jayson Sams. Now, 20-something years later we’re both West Central High School alumni with football players of our own- playing on that same field, under those same lights. And there’s something so nostalgically beautiful about watching our kids play on the same field we spent so much time around… Knowing their grandparents also spent time at games surrounding that exact patch of grass that T-Mobile is now giving our school + community a chance to win an upgrade for! Tonight I dug through the archives for a little blast from the ‘07 & ‘09 pasts to include snips from our ‘Good Ole Days’ mixed in with the boys’ current Heat gear. 👉🏼👈🏼 To be able to raise our boys in RED ❤️ WHITE 🤍 and BLUE 💙 as the WC HEAT 🔥 is truly pretty special! Join me in sharing an #Entry to help boost our chances at winning an upgrade to the football field, our Sacred Acre, so generations to come get to love what we have! 1️⃣6️⃣🏈7️⃣4️⃣ @WestCentralCUSD235 #FN5GL @WestCentralHighSchool ##tmobile @@Danglz75 ##entry
