Happy birthday to my little sister ❤️ As you know, in Nepal, after already having one daughter, people usually hope for a son. I honestly don’t know if I really wanted a brother back then or if society had just put that thought in my head. 😂 But apparently, I always used to say, “Mummy is gonna have a son.” But you were born as my sister, not my brother. 😂 I barely remember the day you were born. I have a very little memory of Mummy crying so hard because of the labour pain. We didn’t have a phone at home back then, so while Mummy was in the hospital, Hajurbuwa and I were at someone else’s house waiting for the call to find out if you were a boy or a girl. Apparently, when they told us you were a girl, I cried a lot. 😂 I honestly don’t remember that, so I don’t know how true that story is or how much everyone just made it up over the years. 😂 Hajurbuwa was a little disappointed too, but when he saw your face, he said, “Feri xori nai vayexa vanera dukha lagyo thiyo, natine ta yesto gori, America jasti gori ujheli raicha.” 😂❤️ And he even predicted that you would have a very successful and bright future, and that you would bring light to our family. And look at you now… you really are the charm of our family. ❤️ I know you still fight with me even through our video calls 😂, but I want you to know that I love you the most, and I would never have a second thought about choosing you over anyone. Being far away from you has made me realise how much you actually mean to me and how supportive and understanding you have always been. Even knowing that your sister is abroad, you have never once asked me for a single penny. Even when I ask you to let me send you something, you always say no. Instead, you send me the nicest things you buy for yourself because you think they might look good on me. 🥹❤️ And no matter how much you grow older, you will always be that little girl to me — the little girl I used to go to school with. ❤️ This caption is already way too long, but honestly, I could write a whole book about you and I still don’t think it would be enough.
