The 1987 Constitution was born from hope. But today, it’s being used to protect the very powers it was meant to restrain. What was written to safeguard democracy and prevent another dictatorship has, over time, become a legal labyrinth that increasingly protects dynasties and oligarchs, not ordinary Filipinos. Today, 80% of provincial governors and 67% of House members come from political dynasties. It’s no accident—it’s how power perpetuates itself. We are now governed by a system designed with good intentions, but one that has been gamed to exhaustion. Term limits meant to rotate power became a revolving door of families swapping seats. Anti-pork rulings have been bypassed by “insertions,” “for later release” funds, and renamed allocations. Checks and balances turned into political deadlocks, where those with numbers or connections are untouchable. And while the Constitution may be noble in words, its enforcement has been sabotaged by INSTITUTIONAL CAPTURE. From regulatory agencies to revenue offices, from Congress to certain courts, wealthy clans and political operators have used their influence to bend the system in their favor. Even oversight bodies and courts get subverted, turning them into tools of protection rather than correction. This is the natural outcome of a rigged structure. Whether it’s ghost flood-control projects in Bulacan, or a scenario where just 15 out of more than 2,400 accredited contractors cornered P100 billion in projects, or the staggering P241 billion in budget insertions in the 2025 national budget—the system was designed to hide these leaks. And hide they do. The laws we hoped would protect us are now being used against us, weaponized to delay justice, confuse citizens, or keep investigations stuck in committee hearings. WE HAVE REACHED A POLITICAL DEAD END. If we wait for the system to self-correct, we’ll be waiting forever. If we leave the fight to politicians, this will remain a game of power, not principle. And if we stay silent, we are not just victims of corruption, we are its enablers. Politicians thrive on public fatigue. But if we—the Filipino people—rise up with clarity and resolve, we might yet redirect history. WE MUST ACT NOW. Through organized civic pressure, grassroots mobilization, and collective resolve. It’s time to demand not just accountability, but a Constitutional Reset—a people-driven movement to rewrite the rules of governance, dismantle dynastic monopolies, and hardwire transparency and accountability into our political DNA. THE PEOPLE’S CONSTITUTIONAL RESET This isn’t about rebellion—it’s about reform. We need a Constitutional Reset that’s people-driven, not power-driven. This means: • Pushing for a Constitutional Convention that represents every region, sector, and citizen—not just political elites. • Restructuring power to end the stranglehold of political clans and entrenched cartels. • Building a system where corruption has no legal hiding places and leadership is measured by service, not surname. The Constitution may be paper, but the people are flesh and blood—and true sovereignty rests with us. Either we build a republic that honors us, or remain stuck in a republic that exploits us. It’s time to stop patching a broken machine and start designing a new one. If this moment does not awaken us, nothing will. We are no longer just choosing leaders; we are deciding whether this Republic deserves to survive. ~ Reforma Pilipinas @Dare to Ask @neriezz08
Magsama-sama tayo. Magkaisa. Hawak kamay. Puso sa puso. Hindi bilang pulitiko. Hindi bilang tagasuporta. Kundi bilang tunay na anak ng bayan. Para sa kinabukasan. Para sa katotohanan. Para sa Pilipinas. Mabuhay ang sambayanang Pilipino! @Dare to Ask @John Lee @VCS Neriezz☑️
