77 days. Lady Barkington is still waiting. 💔 This playful, chatty girl has spent more than two months in a local impound, and she’s now considered URGENT. We really need to find her a foster home. Lady has plenty of personality and would love a canine buddy who’s ready to play. Most of all, she needs someone willing to open their home and give her a chance to finally leave the kennel behind. Can you be Lady’s foster? Sign up at: https://ruffstartrescue.org/get-involved/foster/ #minnesota #foster #shelterdog #adoptme #adoptdontshop #urgent #rescue #rescuedog #dogsoftiktok #dog

Oakley has made it to Ruff Start, but her journey is only beginning. 💙 This sweet girl is estimated to be just 10 months to 1 year old, and when she arrived at a local impound, she weighed only 19 pounds. She was extremely emaciated, but somehow, she was still overflowing with happiness. Her tail never stopped wagging, and she was so excited to see people that she developed a “happy tail” from repeatedly hitting it against her kennel. Thankfully, Oakley now has a committed foster who has stepped up to help her heal. She is on a carefully managed refeeding plan, eating multiple small meals a day while her body slowly rebuilds. Oakley has a long road ahead. She’ll need ongoing veterinary care, time to safely gain weight and strength, and eventually, when she is healthy enough, the routine care she still needs, including her spay. But she has something incredibly important already: a safe place to heal and people who are committed to her. Oakley should have had the chance to be a puppy all along. Now we get to help her discover what that feels like. If you’d like to help support Oakley’s recovery, please consider making a donation toward her care. Every gift helps give her the time, medical care, and nourishment she needs to get stronger. All Edith Marmalade wants is a quiet place to feel safe. 🧡 This sweet tabby is currently waiting at a local impound, where she spends much of her time tucked into her hidey cube. The shelter environment is a lot for her, and we know she’ll need some time to adjust, but Edith is friendly and accepts pets once she feels comfortable. Edith needs someone willing to give her a little patience, a cozy spot to curl up, and the chance to show us who she really is. We don’t yet know how Edith will do with cats, dogs, or children, but getting her into a foster home will help us learn more about this sweet older girl. Chai Latte has spent 39 days waiting for her life to begin. At around 1 year old, Chai is a friendly, energetic girl who loves people and is ready for a life beyond the kennel. She’s curious and playful, and she’d thrive with a foster who can give her plenty of exercise, enrichment, structure, and attention. Ready to help Chai Latte get her Ruff Start? Tank Sinatra has been waiting at a local impound for 37 days, and we’re hoping his next chapter can start with a foster home. 💙 This 6-year-old Lab mix is a happy, playful guy who loves tennis balls, toys, and attention. He’s done well meeting other dogs and is ready for a change of scenery. Fostering gives dogs like Tank a chance to decompress, get comfortable, and experience life outside of a kennel while they wait for their next step. As we put the finishing touches on our expansion, something pretty exciting is happening: our feline friends are officially moving into their brand-new cat spaces! 🐱 Adoptable Ziggy is making history as the very first resident of the expansion! These new spaces give us more room to care for cats in rescue, create dedicated areas for them to relax and decompress, and ultimately help us serve more animals and the people who care for them. What started as an empty space is becoming a place that will directly support lifesaving work for years to come. And this is just the beginning of what this expansion will make possible. #minnesota #adoptdontshop #rescue #adoptme #rescuecat #expansion

What a day at Ruff Start Rescue! Thank you to everyone who came out to Princeton for our 16th Anniversary Party & Open House. We had such a fun afternoon celebrating 16 years of rescue, checking out our new space, meeting adoptable animals, snuggling kittens and puppies, enjoying great food, chatting with local vendors, and spending time with our amazing community. It was extra special to celebrate 33,000+ lives saved while surrounded by so many of the people who make that lifesaving possible. #minnesota #adoptdontshop #rescue #anniversary #openhouse
