From the first walk-through to the finished driveway! We started by preparing and shaping the ground, then brought in 50 tons of new gravel, spread it, graded it, and packed it down after a good New Mexico rain. Right near the finish, the skid steer hit a soft spot along the edge of the driveway and slid toward the arroyo and culvert. It could have easily gone much farther, but with a jack, chain, truck, and a little patience, we pulled it back onto solid ground. BIG GRAVEL PARKING LOT MAINTENANCE This parking lot was still in pretty good condition—it just needed some attention. We used the power rake on a couple of problem spots, then reworked and leveled the existing material throughout the lot to give it a smoother, cleaner finish. Not every gravel parking lot needs new material or a complete rebuild. Regular maintenance can correct worn areas, improve the surface, and extend the life of what you already have. Another gravel driveway prep/restoration in the books! 🚜 This customer isn’t ready for new material just yet, so we tackled the first step — getting the existing driveway back into shape and preparing it for a future gravel installation. We worked the existing material, corrected worn and uneven areas, reshaped the driveway, and got the surface prepared so when they’re ready for new material, we’ve already got a solid start.
