After a long wait, I can finally say I pinned Sergeant First Class. First and foremost, I want to thank God for every blessing, every challenge, and every opportunity that got me to this point. None of this would’ve been possible without Him guiding me through the highs and lows along the way. To all my current and previous leadership, thank you for the mentorship, guidance, and lessons throughout my career. Every leader I’ve worked for helped shape me into the NCO I am today. To my peers and subordinates, thank you for giving me the opportunity to lead, learn, and grow alongside you all. Leadership is never a one man job, and I’ve learned just as much from the soldiers around me as I have from anyone else. There are a lot of people I truly want to take the time to thank individually. John Kim, brother, you’ve given me crap plenty of times about the leader I knew I could become, but you’ve never once led me astray. Grant Whittington, sir, you’ve always busted my balls and called me on my BS, but you never let me fail. Chasen Hardin, you’re one of the main reasons I got back into college and started pursuing my civilian education. Raymond Nobles, brother, you’ve always been by my side and always lent an ear when I needed it the most. I wish you all could’ve been there for this moment, but we all have to grow and continue our own paths. Just know you all had a hand in helping me get here. Last but definitely not least, my family. To my wife, Sandra Mantilla, thank you for always supporting me, believing in me, and standing beside me through everything the Army throws our way. To my kids, Angel and Adelyne, thank you for always loving your dad even through the long nights, early mornings, field problems, schools, and time away from home. Everything I do is for you guys. This promotion means a lot, but the work continues. Time to keep leading from the front. #sfc #SNCO #combatengineer #army #boricua
