For the last 24 months I have been silent, out of fear and also because I was trying to trust and respect the process, and I know I am not the only rescuer who has felt that way. The criminal charges, the 22 new SCRAPS violations filed by Officer A. Kline totaling $9,020, the over $14,000 we have already paid for the requirements of the Conditional Use Permit process, and the lack of communication have all taken their toll on me and on other rescuers in our community, and many of us have been scared to say anything publicly or do anything at all because we are rescuers who have been viewed as criminals for saving animals in need. What SCRAPS is: www.spokanecounty.gov Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service, its listed primary function is animal control and enforcement, and public and animal safety. Mission: Build a more humane community, protect public safety, and ensure animal welfare through compassionate, responsive, professional enforcement of laws and public policies. SCRAPS has either threatened to criminally charge or has charged multiple local 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescues in Spokane County, I am one of the people who they have charged with a criminal misdemeanor violation of operating a unlicensed commercial kennel and at this point I have nothing to lose, and the public needs to know this is happening. Please for the love of animals share this! This is going to be a immense financial undertaking, for those who have followed us for the last 13 years, they know that when it comes to financial disclosure, I am an open book for what we spend what we raise. If you are able to donate, that would be amazing. You can find all of the links on our website www.rescue4all.org/donate Every dollar we raise, will go to creating a place a place that is built for animals with people who not only wish they could help but actually do help animals in need in Spokane & Stevens County. If you have a story about SCRAPS or their conduct with you as a rescue, please send it to me. Everything will be kept confidential. animals@rescue4all.org Rescuers want to save lives, not live in fear of being treated like a criminal because we do. #Rescue4All #SCRAPS #SpokaneCounty #Spokane #AnimalRescue
