See you, Third Year!! 🥹💖 #med #medtokph #medicine #fyp #booktok

Some books pull you in because of an exciting plot, while others quietly stay with you because of their characters. At first glance, The Wedding People seems like a story centered around a wedding—a place associated with celebration, romance, and happy endings. But as the story unfolds, it becomes less about the wedding itself and more about the people carrying things in their hearts beneath polished smiles and carefully chosen words. One thing the book made me think about is how we never really know who a person truly is or what they are going through unless we sit down with them and have an honest, deep conversation. We often assume we know people because they are family, longtime friends, classmates, or partners. We see them regularly, know their routines, and hear their stories. But knowing someone on the surface and understanding who they truly are inside are two very different things. This book shows us that telling your truth to someone who has no history with you can feel lighter than opening up to the people closest to us, because there is less fear of judgement. Strangers do not have expectations of who you are supposed to be—they do not have years of assumptions attached to your name. And just because someone is family or a close friend does not automatically mean they know every part of you. There are thoughts people keep hidden, feelings they never say out loud, and battles they choose to carry silently. The story does not leave the readers with a frustrating cliffhanger, but it also does not neatly tell us every detail of what happens next in the characters’ lives. We do not get to see the “after,” and somehow, that feels right. This story is about the wedding people, and the story ends when they stop being one. Life itself rarely gives us complete endings anyway. We meet people briefly, become part of each other’s stories for a while, and then move forward. We do not always get to know what happens next, but that does not make those connections any less meaningful. This story leaves behind a quiet reminder: people are carrying stories we cannot see, and sometimes the most unexpected conversations reveal the things that matter most. #booktok #booktokph #bookstagram #theweddingpeople #fyp

@Aesop’s first-ever SEA Queer Library is finally here, and it honestly feels like a love letter to books and the community 🌈📚 There are 29 titles to choose from, featuring books from established publishing houses such as @Anvil Publishing Inc, @Adarna House Inc, and @Milflores Books, as well as titles from @KOMIKET, UP Press, and @Everything's Fine PH, alongside works by queer authors including Ricky Lee, @Jerico Silvers, and many more, all available for free. Fair warning, though: prepare yourself for really long lines! But don’t worry. If you have a PWD ID, you can ask the staff where the priority line is, and they also allow one companion, which is really helpful. Also, before you go into full book-hoarding mode, know that you can only get ONE book for the entire event. Not one per visit, not one per day, just one book for the whole event, so choose wisely because walking around and trying to decide might actually be harder than expected! Once you finally choose your book, they’ll stamp it for you and give you a special scented bookmark too, which honestly makes the experience feel even more thoughtful. One thing I loved is that they really prepared for this because every corner feels intentionally designed to be photographed. Bring your cameras, take your pictures, sit with the books, and just immerse yourself in the beauty of the space. And if you’re lucky enough to have a supportive mom and family like I do, bring them with you because technically… they can get the titles you want too. More books for you, and nobody loses 😌📖 The event runs from June 26–28 at SM Aura, so if you’re planning to go, enjoy the books and take your time taking everything in 💛 #booktok #booktokph #aesop #pridemonth #fyp
