My sister has been held in an unjustified permanent guardianship that I will soon be petitioning to dissolve. She is currently being denied family visits, has hole in her shoes, and is having her trust fail its fiduciary duty to meet her needs. I am asking for you to listen to my sisters story and I am asking for changes and much needed oversight to the public guardian program. If someone is not incapacitated, they should not be in a permanent guardianship. Her guardianship should’ve ended after the special needs trust was developed. Well I finally heard back from the public guardian, my sister still has not got the new shoes or clothes requested. She borrowed her roommates dress yesterday to have something comfortable! So we will talk about my contact with the OPG, after multiple days of a failed response even calling their emergency number. And the fact my sister hasn’t got new shoes due to “space constraints” since her shoes with holes and clothes that are too small take up too much room I guess.
