I would never in a million years think this would be our story. You hear of these things happening to “those people” or “that family” but never imagine it being you. Here is a brief video of our story. At only 25 weeks and a couple days I was forced to give birth to my son, Cayden Cruz Hand. Due to the diagnosis of severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome. He was born at only 1.5lbs and 12inches. He was strong for being so tiny. He fought for 5 days until mama was able to break free from the hospital and he ended up passing away the following day. I’m so grateful my son waited for me before heading home to Jesus. He was the greatest blessing and impacted so many peoples lives in his short little life of 6 days. We don’t know why. We don’t know “the plan” God has. We don’t know how to grieve such a massive loss. We don’t know how to even function quite honestly. But my husband and I do know, we have to keep going for our 2 older boys. We have to keep Caydens memory alive. Bring awareness to these conditions. And find joy in the smallest things.
