There’s something special about being seen AND cared for. 🥹💛 Back in July, I attended DC Government’s Loving Arms event celebrating kinship families—and the timing couldn’t have been sweeter. Just ONE DAY before, the DC Council voted to officially recognize September as Kinship Care Month in the District. 🙌🏾 Then, the very next day, we were gathered in a space created to pour into the families who stepped up when family needed family. For kinship caregivers, recognition matters. Resources matter. Community matters. And sometimes, we need spaces that remind us that while we’re busy caring for everyone else, we deserve to be cared for, too. 🫶🏾 Kinship care is the original village. 💛 #kinshipcare #care #dckinshipcare #kinshipcaregiver #theoriginalvillage
