This past weekend, I got lucky and was added last minute to the LEDT (Law Enforcement Driver Training). Hands down, some of the most valuable training I’ve had so far. Every time I get around officers and deputies—whether they’re just starting out or have been in the field for decades—I’m reminded how far off the media portrayal is. What I’ve experienced is professionalism, humility, and a real dedication to service and protecting constitutional rights. One of the biggest takeaways for me through academy has been this: policing isn’t about punishment. It’s about protecting life and making sure both victims and suspects are safely brought into the judicial process. Our job is to honor that process, right from the start. Huge thank you to Bartlesville PD, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and especially our lead instructor Chris Neal, along with all the other instructors who showed up, shared their knowledge, and pushed us to grow. I put together a quick video from the weekend—check it out for a glimpse at what LEDT looked like through my lens. #ProjectTribute #LEDT #ProtectAndServe #BartlesvillePD #WashingtonCountySO #ServiceOverSelf

Farewell, Tribute On October 29, 2019, I started building what would become Tribute. She was never just a Jeep. She was my silent protest, a rolling memorial to honor those who gave their lives in service to others. By December 2020, I had stood along too many roads for too many processions and funerals to count. People began asking how they could help. That moment sparked the beginning of the Project Tribute Foundation. Since then, Tribute and I have traveled more than 110,000 miles. She helped deliver meals to children during the pandemic. She carried life-saving gear across several states to ensure our heroes had what they needed when it mattered most. Tribute became a symbol of service, sacrifice, and resilience. A reminder that with enough resolve, a little bit of crazy, and a whole lot of try me, anything is possible. Because of her, thirty-two lives have been saved. Because of her, hundreds of thousands of dollars in gear now sit ready to save many more. And all of this started with a single dream and a Jeep named Tribute. To the thousands who stood with us, thank you. But the ones who truly kept this mission alive were Chuck Z., Thoran W., and Jared G. You kept me moving when things got hard. You believed in this, and in me. Tribute’s time with Project Tribute has come to an end. Her next chapter is already in motion. We will share that story when the time is right. But today, we honor her for all she has done. “What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others” Pericles Thank you, Tribute. You changed everything.
