Why do we give littles dirt, water, and old pots and then let them decide what to do? Because their ideas take them places my instructions never could. One child is testing how to pour without spilling. Another is working out how much a container can hold. They make a plan, change it, and try again. At The Playschool, we believe littles need time to lead their own play. Our job is to make space for it and pay attention to what they’re showing us. Can we quit making parents feel guilty for choosing child care? This popped up in my memories and yep, we still feel this way. 😂 Choosing child care doesn’t have to mean giving up an unhurried childhood. Here, our littles have time to follow their own ideas and get outside to play. There’s no rush to turn childhood into school. Families deserve support in finding a program that feels right for them.
