Adding binding is one of my favorite ways to finish knit garments but it can be intimidating! There are a million different ways that you can attach your binding but this is my absolute favorite method that gives me the best results 👇 *Add a memory crease to the binding strip by folding in half and pressing, then fold each raw edge toward the center and press again. If you are having a hard time getting a good crease, you can use a little bit of light starch. 

*Placing the right side of the binding against the wrong side (or lining side) of your garment, match the raw edge and pin in place stretching gently. 

*Using a lightning stitch, sew just inside the first memory crease line. *Next, flip your garment and fold the raw edge over twice along the memory creases to close the binding. Pin in place stretching gently. *Using a medium zig zag stitch, sew the folded edge of the binding in place. I like for the end of my zig zag stitch to hit just below or right on the edge of the fold.

Darts are one of the best ways to add shape to your woven garments! The Delilah Romper & Dress features 12 double darts to add shape and definition to the waistline. Check out these tips for sewing the perfect darts 👇 *Press your fabric and mark your darts as accurately as possible on the wrong side of the fabric *Take your time to fold the dart with right sides together as accurately as possible, matching up the dart legs. *Don’t backstitch! Instead, start with your needle placed right before the edge of the fabric and sew just past the other end. Knot the thread tails by hand and trim. *For traditional darts, sew from the wide end to the narrow end. For double darts, pivot at the center with the needle in the down position. *Press your darts! For darts that create a curved seam, like on the bust, press them on a curved surface by using a tailors ham or a a rolled up towel for the best results!
