Signing your nation away to the empire ✍🏼…. All over the world, the United States CIA stages coups to install puppet leaders to do their bidding. The animated film “Pelea” is about a CIA-backed coup of the fictional South American nation of Vivencia, for oil and mineral resources. There is currently a wave of fascism taking over Latin America: from Colombia, to Argentina, to Peru, right wing extremists are devestating the environment, Indigenous communities, and basic human rights. Now, Brazil is at risk of succumbing. As an anti-imperialist studio, we use the power of animation to educate and resist. The #Pelea teaser is currently in production. We are excited to be attending @lightboxexpo this year! While we won’t be exhibitors, we will be attending #indieanimation mixer events and be around the conference handing out prints and selling our new soon-to-be-released merch! We can’t wait to meet with fellow artists, tell people more about #Pelea, and learn more about all the amazing projects out there. Team members who will be representing us at #lightboxexpo: Jolie Molkeen (storyboard artist, layout artist, and illustrator), @bri 💌 (communications team member & graphic designer), and Laura Houk (animator and illustrator) Email us at peleaproduction@gmail.com for any collaboration requests, invitations, or any questions you may have! See you at the end of the month! #lightbox #indiefilm
