History is written in the soil beneath our feet, and Black history in Britain runs deep. Although British Paganism has not been a continuous lineage, our modern practices are built upon the foundations laid in ancient history, including many influences (often appropriated) from our Black spiritual siblings. From the ancient Romans to the Afro-Caribbean communities who brought many spiritual and folk traditions to UK shores, Black history is an integral thread within the UK’s rich Pagan tapestry. This year’s theme, “Honouring Our Communities,” invites us to recognise the individuals whose everyday contributions shape, support and sustain Black life across the United Kingdom. We are inviting you to tell us about favourite Black Pagan author, artist or educator in the comments, and share how you feel they have shaped, supported, and sustained Paganism in the UK! This could be historical, or current. #thepaganfedferation #BlackHistoryMonth
