Clothes from the reject rail—damaged, discarded, forgotten. I took them apart and stitched them back together with the seams exposed, just like the stuff I’ve been carrying. Sewing gave me a way to process what I couldn’t say out loud.
Have you ever used your hands to work through something heavy? 🧵

This dress has been a quiet companion over the past few weeks—stitched slowly, in the light and in the dark. In the first photo, I’m in a quiet pocket of sunshine, sewing more by hand than I’d originally planned. Turns out, the repetition of needle and thread became its own kind of meditation—a way to sift through heavy thoughts I hadn’t made time to sit with. The second photo is a reality check: yes, that’s my actual thumb, accidentally sewn through while working on the appliqué lettering. No blood, but a lot of feeling. The third image is the nearly finished piece. I’ve since completed it (see my previous video) and I’ll be styling it properly soon for a full shoot. The dress is made entirely from damaged and discarded garments—patched and pieced together into something new. Not an exercise in perfection, but in presence. Appliquéd down the front are the words: “let his name be buried deeper than his bones.” A sentence that found me when I needed it most. Thank you for holding space for work like this. Sometimes, the act of making is the only way through. #WearableArt #ArtToWear #TextileStorytelling #SustainableStyle #ReworkedFashion #ArtAsHealing #FashionWithFeeling #DarkArtFashion #ArtTok #WearableArtTok 🚀 Overcoming obstacles:

“Let his name be buried deeper than his bones.” This dress is crafted from what was once broken—stitched from aftermath. Seams raw, like scars that never healed. The red veil is not for modesty. It is for severance—let him see nothing now. This is not mourning. This is the dance on his grave.
