I’m here for all of the queer books! I have loved every single book that Page Street YA has released, so when they offered to send me their new sapphic portal fantasy from Marley Rose-Teter, I couldn’t say no. Thank you to the publisher for my gifted ARC box. This sounds perfect and I’m excited to read it! The Bone Brides: Nola James can handle it. She can handle that her father is dead. She can handle that her friends, bored with her grief, left her behind. Nola James can handle it because she has to. Lumi―the love of her life and a faery changeling―is in danger. Not only is Lumi’s human mother trying to kill her, but she’s being hunted by veiled monsters that want to return her to the fae. Hiding out together in an abandoned cabin with only a skeleton rabbit for company is miserable, but Nola can handle that too. And she does. Until Lumi is abducted. In order to save her, Nola must enter the faery realm: a world at the bottom of a lake in which eyeless horses parade as brides, ghost-bees produce transformative honey, and skeletons dance in skin-colored cloaks. Aided by a witch-girl with uncertain motives, Nola uncovers the realm’s terrifying power over changelings. Unless Nola can outplay an abyssal faery queen and find the courage to let the world see her own pain, Lumi will be trapped in faeryland forever. ⁉️What are you currently reading? I just started Nest of Tongues by Randy Ribay and it’s so good!! It’s about mananaggal, Filipino vampires that rip their torso from the bottom half of their body before they hunt. 😱

These aren’t actually based on Disney movies, but more likely the stories those movies were based on. But each brings a bit of nostalgia in a way. If you’ve read any of these, let me know down below.
