Apparently, somewhere along the way, I became responsible for an entire small ecosystem. Dogs. Cats. Snakes. Rescues. Mud. Fur. Tanks. Vet bills. Food bowls. Someone permanently sitting where I wanted to sit. And I wouldn’t change the animals. I changed everything else. My weekends. My house. My car. My routines. My definition of a reasonable number of dependants. And, as I’ve learned more, I’ve changed what I put into their bowls too. That’s probably the biggest thing animals teach us: loving them isn’t simply having them. It’s paying attention. Learning what they need. Making better choices when you know better. Giving them good food, ridiculous amounts of affection, proper care, adventure, safety and a life that feels as enormous to them as they make ours feel to us. I’ve noticed the everyday things that matter to me most: happy energy, healthy-looking coats, good digestion and animals who are very, very enthusiastic when dinner arrives. On World Animal Day, this is my little reminder that we get their whole lives. Make them good ones. Go Natural with Diamond Naturals. I’d like to thank Celine for getting me through the dark times 🫶✨😂 Hip surgery done! & No it’s not a BBL (tempting but no). My milkshake already brings the boy that counts to the yard. Even on crutches. 💋
