Hi! My name is Nick. I just traveled across Aotearoa and I’ll be sharing my hot travel tips! As well as educating people on things like plants 🌱 wildlife and culture🦜 make sure to follow along #aotearoa #aotearoanz #newzealand #tourguide
This is a Piwakawaka🪶 New Zealand Fantail. They are endemic to Aotearoa and can be found all across the country! Mostly in low land places, parks, reserves and even in your garden! Anywhere they can find some tasty insects! They are iconic mostly for their tail! They are also super small weighing on average 8-10 g which is roughly the same as a teaspoon of sugar or two credit cards or even a dollar coin! They will be flying about moving fast between trees and bushes searching for food which makes this difficult to film them. They rarely sit still! If you know any interesting facts about the Piwakawaka let me know in the comments I'm on the look out for some amazing and rare birds across Aotearoa NZ. Comment below which one I should try and find!? Stay tuned for the next bird the Tui. • #birdnerds #pīwakawaka #newzealandbirds #birdsofaotearo #nzbirds
This is the " Tüi" • One of the most iconic birds you can find here in Aotearoa NZ. It's endemic and can be found all across the country. Common places like reserves, parks and even in your garden It searches for seeds and can be very territorial! • The colours are black mixed with blue, green and bronze but you'll know it's a Tùi cause of its white tuff on its throat. • Tuis have a dual voice box which can mimic thousands of sounds even ringtones. In Maori culture the Tui is highly regarded as a messenger from the gods and a guardian to travelers. Cause of its amazing vocal sounds the maoris believed to bridge the earthly world to the spiritual realm. There's a lot of Maori mythology involving this bird. • Credit for the video @taytalkstrees • I'm on a bit of a mission to see a lot of birds in Aotearoa especially ones that are endangered. If anyone knows how I could see a Kakapo in the wild even if it's part of a team that's doing a health check up pls message me i I'll be making a list soon and V them off! I'm no expect at birds but I do hope to teach you a cool fact or two and make you appreciate the nature that's around you even in urban areas. #tui #birdsofaotearoa #birdsofnewzealand #birdnerds #birdsoftiktok
