Elephants in America Acrylic on loose canvas 24in x 43in This piece is inspired by the phase “the elephant in the room”, the bigotry that exist in plain sight within the “United States”, and the nonstop psychological, physical, and spiritual torture that is anti blackness. My art exists to question the status quo and to address the impact of trauma head on unapologetically, and Trumps America has not only breathed life into the ideals of white nationalism but any push back (especially from black people) is met with violent cognitive dissonance from people who are unwillingly to acknowledge their part in not only maintaining the status quo but resting comfortably in it. I have nothing special to say about this, it just sickens me. The length people are willingly to go to maintain harmful structures and ideals that does nothing but restlessly attack, manipulate, disregard, disrespect, and exploit disenfranchised communities breaks my fucking heart. #milwaukeewi #mutaaliah #milwaukeeart #fuckdonaldtrump #skimasktheslumpgod

The Wisconsin Black Historical Society, in Milwaukee, WI is currently hosting an exhibition on Racist Memorabilia. Please check it out if you can, I think everyone should take the time to further educate themselves on the harms of anti blackness within the United States. I was told this exhibit should be up till January, you have time, it cost nothing to be anti racist❤️ Hours Monday-Friday: 11:00a.m - 4:00p.m Saturday: 10:00 a.m - 1:00 p.m Closed on Sundays #milwaukeewi #mutaaliah #milwaukeemuseums #minstrel #blackamericana
