The art brought us together. The community brought it to life. 🎨✨ This past weekend, the community showed UP for Heart of Kensington Creates, a community-centered arts initiative celebrating neighborhood identity and shared Kensington pride through collective impact. The Art Crawl explored newly installed artwork on trolley rides and walking tours through the neighborhood. We kept the celebration going with dancing, local bites, and creativity and fun for all ages. A day full of neighborhood pride, with art to enjoy long after the celebration. Shout out to the artists whose creativity made every stop worth celebrating; our partners @impactservices and The office of @councilmemberquetcy for helping make it happen; and our neighbors for filling the day with so much life! Next time you’re in Kensington, take a moment to look around. You may discover your new favorite piece of art right in the neighborhood. ✨ Artist Spotlight: Richie Lopez (@duende.textiles | IG) We’re closing out our Hispanic Heritage Month artist series with one final story. We caught up with textile artist Richie Lopez in his studio to talk about family, finding joy through creativity, and how his lived experiences continue to shape the stories he tells through his art. From the people who inspire us to the stories we carry, art connects us to where we come from and who we are. Thank you for following along as we’ve celebrated Hispanic artists, their creativity, and the stories that make our communities so special. Here’s to continuing to uplift their voices, share their stories, and celebrate their work all year long! ✨ #hispanicheritagemonth #hispanicartist #muralarts #textileart
