With my brother

Back then, whenever I did something nice or beautiful, I would hide it away from the public domain, especially social media. Somewhere along the line, I convinced myself that too much showing was a sign of arrogance, or that celebrating your progress gave people an opportunity to discredit it. So even when something meaningful happened, I kept it to myself. But like I promised myself… That lifestyle ends this year! I had the opportunity to be called upon by my Professor, Joe Turkson of Takoradi Technical University as a visiting lecturer for his PhD and BTech students in Interior Design, where he teaches Research Methodologies at Takoradi Technical University - TTU. I introduced them to the world of CGI and Virtual Reality. And honestly, somewhere in that room, something hit me. I looked around and saw my Dean, Prof Joe who saw my days as a student leader smiling at my passionate lecture. I saw PHD candidates listening with attention! I saw students actually listening to me, expecting me to teach them. And I thought… GOD! Boy, I know how to teach!” Herhhhh! — na teacher pikin abi? And I’m a talkative too, so you can imagine! But beyond the jokes, that moment meant something to me. Because sometimes growth happens so quietly that you don't even notice it. You keep learning. You keep working. You keep showing up. And then one day, you look around and realize: “Ei… I’ve actually come far.” For me, moments like this keep me humbled by how far God has brought me and the long journey ahead of me. And I am learning that celebrating your milestones is not pride. Sometimes, it is simply acknowledging that the work is working. So yes, I will post this. I will celebrate this and people like Ernest Doe Kudjordjie, Abigail Gura and Nana Akua Ampon and Richard Addison (lecturers and mentors) who kept on hitting me hard not to give up on my skills when everyone told me to leave these unnecessary skills I will document these moments. Because if God has brought me this far, I refuse to hide the evidence. The progress may sometimes feel like nothing when you measure it day by day… But look closely. It is something. And this year, I won't hide it anymore.
