This is my 19 year old red eared slider named Tori. She has been driving me nuts in her tank so I took her outside and she searched for a bit before finding the best spot to start digging. It took her 6 whole hours and I stayed with her the whole time! But she laid 14 eggs and in this video, you can just barely see a glimpse of her laying an egg. I think the whole process is so cool as she has to find the right spot, dig a deep narrow hole with one leg at a time scooping out the dirt. Then as she lays one egg at a time, she buries it before laying another. When she's all done, she scoops dirt behind her then puts her back feet together and packs the dirt back down until she feels they're covered enough. She kept going for so long, you couldn't even tell a hole was ever dug there! #turtle #nature #layingeggs #pets #petturtle
